In the first quarter of 2023, the top five communication apps on the Android platform in Turkey showcased significant trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Earthquake Network saw dramatic spikes in both downloads and revenue. Weekly downloads surged from 3.6K at the end of December to a peak of 423K in early March. This app’s revenue also mirrored this trend, skyrocketing from $138 in early January to over $21K at the end of February. Active users increased significantly as well, reaching a high of approximately 706K in mid-March.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady pace in Turkey. Weekly downloads ranged from 121K to 224K, peaking in the last week of March. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 39M mark throughout the quarter.

Snapchat from Snap Inc experienced consistent engagement. Weekly downloads varied between 124K and 169K, with a notable increase to 158K in the final week of March. Revenue showed a slight increase, ending the quarter at $934. Active users saw a slight rise, peaking at 11.4M at the end of March.

Telegram demonstrated consistent performance in weekly downloads, starting at 102K in late December and reaching 125K in late March. Revenue saw an uptick, peaking at approximately $14.5K at the end of February. Active users remained stable around 7M, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.

Getcontact showed a notable increase in both downloads and revenue. Weekly downloads jumped from 54K in late January to nearly 150K by the end of March. Revenue also saw significant growth, reaching approximately $16K in the final week of March. Active users increased steadily, peaking at around 522K in the last week of March.
